Rachel Kneebone:

Part of 'Lamentations 2010' the theme of death runs within her work in pieces such as: 'grave as the imagined as frivolous as the eternal'. She confronts the idea of grief by casting the female figure at the centre of many of her pieces with thick vine like cords wrapping tightly around the plinth. The fragility of her work symbolises the volatile life force as well as the rope that threatens to choke the piece to death. Each intricate detail is made from fine porcelain.

Victoria Miro Gallery

Francesca Woodman:

Her work shows ghostly and haunting images with a fairytale narrative element, shadows and the dark play a major role in her work as if in a distilled world of her own. She uses a soft hued effect with loose elements such as fading and peeling wallpaper, ribbons, flowers and nature. Her soft and elegant work of hundreds of photographs were exhibited within the gallery.
